Boris De Ruyter's academic background includes a master's degree in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology from the University of Ghent in Belgium and a PhD in Industrial Design Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology.
Throughout his career, Boris has explored the effects that technology applications have on people. He has held various roles within Philips, including team lead, department head, university professor (Radboud University), and research program manager.
As Principal Scientist, Boris spearheads innovation by conceptualizing and testing human-centered technological applications that improve user experience and address real-world needs. To further strengthen Philips' competitive edge, he contributes to the development and management of strategic intellectual property portfolios.
